DESCRIPTION:𝐖𝐀𝐋𝐊𝐀𝐓𝐇𝐎𝐍 𝐎𝐍 𝐀𝐃𝐑 𝐑𝐄𝐏𝐎𝐑𝐓𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐂𝐔𝐋𝐓𝐔𝐑𝐄 𝐅𝐎𝐑 𝐏𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐄𝐍𝐓 𝐒𝐀𝐅𝐄𝐓𝐘 \nSt. Pauls College of Pharmacy\, in collaboration with the Indian Pharmacopoeia Commission (IPC)\, organized a 𝐖𝐚𝐥𝐤𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐧 𝐒𝐞𝐩𝐭𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝟏𝟖\, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟒\, as part of the 4th Pharmacovigilance Week. The event\, centered around the theme “𝐁𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐀𝐃𝐑 𝐑𝐞𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐂𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐏𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐒𝐚𝐟𝐞𝐭𝐲” aimed to raise public awareness on the importance of drug safety and the critical role of reporting adverse drug reactions (ADRs). It provided a platform for students and faculty to actively engage in promoting a culture of ADR reporting\, with patient safety as the ultimate goal. The event was inaugurated by Dr. M. Kiranmai\, Principal of St. Pauls College of Pharmacy\, and Dr. Are Anusha\, Head of the Department of Pharmacy Practice. Both stressed the crucial role pharmacists play in ensuring drug safety and the importance of establishing a strong framework for ADR reporting. Dr. Kiranmai noted\, “𝐏𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐜𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐬 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐟𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐭 𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐝𝐞𝐟𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞” when it comes to drug safety. A proactive ADR reporting system is essential to protecting patient health and well-being. DESCRIPTION:𝐂𝐎𝐌𝐌𝐔𝐍𝐈𝐓𝐘 𝐎𝐔𝐓𝐑𝐄𝐀𝐂𝐇 𝐏𝐑𝐎𝐆𝐑𝐀𝐌𝐌𝐄 𝐨𝐧 𝟏𝟗𝐭𝐡 𝐒𝐞𝐩𝐭𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫. \n“Our responsibility extends beyond the walls of the pharmacy – it’s about empowering the community to recognize and report adverse drug reactions\,” said Dr. M. Kiranmai\, Principal of St. Pauls College of Pharmacy\, as she opened the Community Outreach Programme on September 19\, 2024\, in Manchal Village. Organized in collaboration with the Indian Pharmacopoeia Commission (IPC) during the 4th National Pharmacovigilance Week\, the event focused on raising awareness of the importance of adverse drug reaction (ADR) reporting. \nUnder the theme “Building ADR Reporting Culture for Patient Safety\,” the programme aimed to educate community members\, patients\, and caregivers about pharmacovigilance and its essential role in ensuring medication safety. \nThe initiative effectively raised community awareness\, empowering participants to actively contribute to medication safety. Feedback from attendees indicated that they felt more confident in identifying and reporting ADRs\, aligning with the programme’s goals.
