SUMMARY:A Training Program on Technology Readiness Level (TRL) and Manufacturing Readiness Level (MRL)
DESCRIPTION:A Training Program on Technology Readiness Level (TRL) and Manufacturing Readiness Level (MRL) was organized under the R&D Awareness and Capacity Building Initiative at the institution. The session was delivered by Professor & Principal St. Pauls College of Pharmacy\, Dr. Mandava Kiranmai on 28.02.2026. who provided valuable insights into assessing technology maturity and manufacturing preparedness for successful commercialization. \nDr. Kiranmai explained the TRL framework\, originally developed by NASA\, outlining the nine levels that track the progression of research from basic scientific principles to fully operational systems. She also highlighted the importance of Manufacturing Readiness Levels (MRL) in ensuring scalability\, pilot production feasibility\, quality compliance\, and regulatory preparedness. \nThe session emphasized bridging the “Valley of Death” between laboratory research and market deployment. Faculty members\, research scholars\, and innovation coordinators actively participated in discussions and interactive exercises that helped map ongoing research projects to appropriate TRL stages. \nThe program significantly enhanced awareness regarding technology validation\, industry collaboration\, and funding readiness\, thereby strengthening the institution’s innovation ecosystem and R&D capacity.
