🧘 Yoga for Hypertension – Breathe Calm, Live Calm 🧘♀️
On Day 2 of our yoga awareness campaign at St. Pauls College of Pharmacy, we focus on a condition that silently affects millions — Hypertension (High Blood Pressure). Often called the “ silent killer ,” hypertension is strongly linked to stress, poor lifestyle, and lack of physical activity.
💚 Why Yoga for Hypertension?
🩺 Reduces stress hormones (like cortisol and adrenaline)
🧘 Enhances parasympathetic (rest-and-digest) response
🩸 Improves vascular function and heart rate regulation
🌿 Encourages mindfulness and breathing techniques
Through a combination of grounding asanas and mindful breathing, our Pharm D 3rd year student Mr. Mayank Sharma explored how yoga nurtures a calm mind and a healthy heart.
