Dr. Bonagiri Chandra Shekar is having 26 years of teaching, research and administrative experience. He obtained PhD (SRF, AICTE) in the year 2008 from University College of Pharmaceutical Sciences (UCPSc) Kakatiya University, Warangal, Telangana. He did M.Pharmacy (JRF,UGC) from Jadavpur University, Kolkata(through GATE-‘93) in the year 1996 and B.Pharmacy from UCPSc, Kakatiya University, Warangal in the year 1993(EAMCET RANK-2265).

His areas of research include

  • Qualitative and quantitative analysis of APIs and Pharmaceutical formulations by using advanced analytical instrumentations.
  • Synthesis of Novel Lipoaminoacids.
  • Development of Liposomes & SLN’s using Novel Lipidic Aminoacids.
  • Targeted drug delivery systems.
  • He has published 52 original research papers in peer reviewed International & National Journals and presented 10 research articles in national and international conferences.
  • Three PhD scholars got awarded for their doctoral programme in the areas of Novel Drug Delivery Systems and Pharmaceutical analysis under his research guidance. He is an approved research guide for JNTUH,JNTUA & JNTUK.
  • He is the recipient of Best Oral Presentation Award bagged at 58th Indian Pharmaceutical Congress (IPC), Mumbai, 2006. He is an Adjudicator & Reviewer for PhD & M.Pharm theses and Resource person & Member of various Scientific Service Committees for National and International conferences.
  • He is having high flair for teaching, administration and research. He is the Life Member of IPA, APTI, IPS and IPGA.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES OF DIRECTOR (RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT)

  • Promoting and facilitating leading-edge research, including collaborative and interdisciplinary research, in the areas of Pharmaceutical Sciences and its allied fields.
  • Building and providing a seam less research platform for those faculty who are having bent of research and innovation and creative thinking.
  • Enhance research capacity at the institute level and to increase internal and external research opportunities for faculty, post graduate, and graduate students.
  • Developing research and professional networks between the research centre and researchers in the field of pharmaceutical arena at domestic and global level.
  • Acting as the robust nexus between the institute and affiliated university and the community with respect to research initiatives for the mutual benefit.
  • Developing mutually beneficial linkages with Pharmaceutical Industry in order to develop partnerships and collaborative research.
  • Transforming acquired pharmaceutical knowledge to society through outreach activities viz., collaborative research; seminars; workshops; lectures; websites; publications and transfer of technology through collaborative research; contract work; and commercialization of intellectual property.
  • Mounting workshops, seminars and conferences related to updated Pharmaceutical and Nutraceutical domains.
  • Providing interdisciplinary research training and mentoring for postgraduate and undergraduate students.
  • Regular updated communication of research centre activities and opportunities for faculty and students.
